Great drill today! The sound effects are good and I'll be using them again for more earthquake drills. Does anyone know where I can get some good putty to stick my vases and stuff down so it's less likely to fall?
ReplyDeleteFor our family, I have 3 main concerns: Heat, Water, and Heating food. We have blankets and things like that, but that is all we have to keep ourselves warm. We need some kind of non-electrical indoor safe heater... any ideas? We have enough water to last us a little while, but not enough for hygiene purposes as well. Let's just say we'd have a lot of dirty clothes. Another 50 gallon barrel would be helpful as well as some way to catch rainwater as well as a good filter so we could use other water. I have a pin on pinterest about how to make your own gravity filter for half the price of a real one. I'm looking into that. Lastly, charcoal and dutch oven. Brother Tillotsen has a handout saying how much charcoal you'd need for 1 warm meal a day for a year. Thanks Kammi!
Melissa,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the response. Great thoughts and info.
Heat is one of my main concerns as well. Short of installing a fireplace, what do you do? I did recently see some propane heaters at Emergency Essentials. They are pricey but probably worth the investment. Another option is to buy a generator that could power a regular space heater.
